Personal Statement of Faith
My journey as a dietitian has been shaped not just by science and education but by my faith and reliance on God’s guidance. I started seeing clients in 2019, but my career as a dietitian began in 2001, after earning my Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Illinois and my Master’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Illinois State University. Along the way, I worked in hospitals, managed food services, and was a stay-at-home mom for my three boys.
Despite all my education and experience, I struggled with maintaining healthy habits for myself and my family. I doubted my ability to help others because I wasn’t seeing the results I wanted for us. Through prayer and research, I came to understand that diets — no matter how popular or promising — are often designed to fail. God didn’t create us to live in cycles of restriction and guilt. Instead, I realized that true wellness comes from a place of grace, freedom, and mindful stewardship of the body He has given us.
This revelation transformed my approach to nutrition and wellness. I pursued further education and became a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. I now help others build healthier relationships with food by focusing on listening to their God-given hunger and fullness cues and practicing self-compassion.
I see God’s hand in every aspect of my work — reminding me that wellness isn’t about perfection, but about honoring Him with the way we care for our bodies and minds. By inviting Him into my work and trusting His wisdom, I’ve been able to help others break free from the bondage of diets and discover a balanced, joyful approach to nutrition.
