Canopy Cove

One Sentence Treatment Philosophy

Canopy Cove is a Christian-based program with 27 years’ experience guiding clients to experience FULL recovery from an eating disorder.

Brief Program Overview

At Canopy Cove we provide compassionate, evidence based treatment for those seeking lasting recovery from anorexia, bulimia and other associated eating disorders. Our treatment philosophy states, “Full and Complete Recovery is Possible”. Each person receives a customized treatment plan developed to address their specific situation. Canopy Cove is approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and offers separate programs for Adults and Teens. We are situated on 55 beautiful acres and offer equine–assisted psychotherapy with horses kept onsite. Trusted and recommended by doctors and therapists throughout the country, clients travel from all states to attend our intensive program.

Christian Components Available

As a part of her testimony, our founder Dr. Lynda Brogdon shares with some humor about how God creatively and repeatedly communicated His desire for her to open a Christian-based Eating Disorder Center. Once she understood His plans, she eagerly complied. While our program is based on Christian principles, our doors are open to all who are seeking full and complete recovery from an eating disorder, regardless of faith. Clients from various backgrounds are warmly accepted and always comfortable at Canopy Cove. We provide a warm and compassionate environment where each person has an opportunity to easily connect with God and meet Him on the path that He has laid out for their life. We acknowledge that each person has a unique path in regards to the timing of developing their relationship with God. We understand that in some cases, we may be allowed to plant a seed of His message, in some cases we may be able to water the seed, and in other cases, we may be able to witness the seed flourish. We would describe our approach as God–ordained, gentle and supported by scripture. Canopy Cove’s staff also understand the benefit of clients seeing God’s presence in our lives on a daily basis.

These questions are most often asked by parents or loved ones who have been to a previous center and are now experienced at knowing what to look for. Testimonials and Endorsements

I wanted to thank you for everything you have done for me and with me. You have truly changed my life. I am so much happier and feel so positive on my road to recovery. I have never believed I would be able to live a "normal" life again and that eventually it would kill me. The way you enabled me to separate myself from my eating disorder was key. I have never been able to be so open about it before and now it is something that I am feeling more pride in the fact that I am winning now and less shame in the fact that it at one time completely controlled my life. You have a very special touch, and I wish there was a way for me to show you or tell you how much my life has changed this past month. How much happier I am, how much peace I now have, how I am able to love again–and I mean even just love my family, and how strong of a relationship I now have with my mom & dad. I am starting to love things about myself again. I know that I have a long road…you all have been my angels. I truly believe with all of my being that I would not be alive today without having met you and been given the skills you have taught me. As scary as it is to say that, it is true. Thank you for giving me that missing piece to start putting my life back together…I will never forget you or the impact you have had on my life and I will continue to rave about you on a daily basis. Much Love.
